Norway-headed advanced pellet producer Arbaflame AS has announced that it has signed a "major" off-take agreement with ENGIE Energie Nederland, a subsidiary of France-headed energy major Engie S.A.
Engie will purchase 70 000 tonnes per annum of Arbaflame’s patented wood pellets with coal-like properties to replace coal in Engie’s coal-fired power plant Maasvlakte in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The agreement with Engie is a commercial breakthrough for us and clear feedback that our technology is one of the solutions for all coal-fired power plants in Europe that are now considering alternatives to coal, said Bjørn-Halvard Knappskog, CEO of Arbaflame.
