在芬兰,天然气和能源主要Gasum Oy已经开放ed it newest gas filling station in Keminmaa. The new station is the first gas filling station in Finnish Lapland, Gasum’s second northernmost filling station and Europe’s northernmost liquefied biomethane (bioLNG) filling station.
Located in the new Rajakangas industrial park that’s under construction, the new Keminmaa station serves heavy-duty transport and passenger cars since it allows refueling with both liquefied- and compressed biomethane (bioLNG, and bioCNG respectively).
The Keminmaa gas filling station has received funding from the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility.
The station is well placed to serve traffic in Finland heading for Rovaniemi and Tornio and further on towards Sweden. Gasum aims to further improve the availability of biogas in Northern Finland in the near future – demand is constantly growing, and we’ve received many requests for new stations in Lapland. Hopefully, we’ll soon be able to announce some new projects in the region, said Juho Kurra, Head of Business, Traffic Finland at Gasum.
First gas truck for the Pohjaset Group
The Pohjaset Group is a family-owned business employing 135 persons in the Kemi-Tornio area and whose business units also include logistics and recycling services.
The Group’s operating area covers Finland from Jyväskylä northwards and Northern Sweden.
The first gas filling station in Finnish Lapland is almost on their own doorstep and convinced the company to acquire the first gas truck for its vehicle fleet. The truck will be on the road starting in early 2024.
The Keminmaa filling station means that we can use biogas and offer low-emission transportation to our customers since now that the station is open, we will be able to run on biogas throughout almost our entire operating area. We firmly believe that the number of gas vehicles in general will increase in Northern Finland in the next few years, said Petri Pohjanen, Logistics Services BU manager.
The Pohjaset Group has a mission to promote sustainability and the circular economy, and this is also reflected in their interest in low-emission fuels and reducing emissions.
The company is already planning to acquire several more gas vehicles for its fleet as the gas-filling station network continues to expand in Northern Finland.
